Our Mission Statement

Our mission is to share our love of animals with everyone, and give future generations a reason to care about animals, our/their environment, and the natural world. The world is suffering due to human negligence and we hope to teach people about the important roles that animals play in our ecosystems.

Conservation and Education

Conservation is a very important topic lately. It’s all over the media, in the news, and all over the global stage. We are only a small business, but we have a big message. Saving the planet starts with you. You can recycle, turn off your lights when you leave a room, and you can choose public transportation over driving everywhere by yourself. We pride ourselves by trying to teach each and every person we meet about sustainable living, eating, and shopping. Using recycled products, or reusable bags. Even little steps can make a big impact. We also want people to know about the problems that some of these exotic animals face. It’s not just from habitat loss, but also poaching for the pet trade, illegal hunting to fuel the chinese food or medicine markets, or even hunting for skins to be used as fashion accessories.

Our Staff

Cassandra

Owner and Operator, Head Animal Care Staff

I’ve always had a major love of animals. I remember from a young age coming home with my pockets filled with frogs I found in the local swamp, and worms I dug up from the backyard. My interest just kept growing from there. My first exotic pet I got when I was around 8 was a hedgehog named Spike. I had him for years and loved him so much.

Since becoming an “Adult” my jobs have always gravitated towards animal jobs. I was never happy working fast food, or retail. I got my first pet store job at 17 and never looked back. I’ve worked at a variety of pet stores, and specialty animal stores, volunteered with different animal rescue organizations, and interest groups, and even finally got my dream job working at a local zoo.

Everyone that knows me, knows that I am a crazy animal lover, and because of this, I have been offered a wide variety of animals that were no longer wanted, or owners could not handle, or any number of situations. I’ve spent years educating people on responsible pet ownership, as well the plight that animals are facing in the wild due to people. I am hoping to continue to help animals and people and share my passion with anyone who is interested in learning.
